Don't fret the small stuff

I just found out that Ryan Dunn passed away this morning. Ryan Dunn was part of the Jackass crew, he did crazy stunts along Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville, and many other people. I found out from a tweet by my sister. I then googled him to find out exactly what happened. As I was looking online, I noticed that so many people were bad mouthing him. Apparently a couple hours before Ryan Dunn had tweeted a picture of him and his friends with alcohol. Now I'm not surprised alcohol was involved, but everyone was bad mouthing him for drinking and driving. I know it's a horrible horrible thing, but honestly bad mouthing the dead? That's just rude and mean. Ryan Dunn and all the Jackass men have always been known to always be drinking alcohol. Now that I think about it, it happens any time a famous person dies. Why do people feel the need to criticize other peoples mistakes they made? Nobodies perfect, including celebrities. Everyone makes mistakes whether it's posting nude pictures online, drinking while driving, or even wearing their shirt inside out. Not every mistake we make should go under fire like that of every celebrity.

Now I know that not everybody is under fire like that of celebrities, but we all feel the same flames as they do. We all are under some sort of flame, whether it's from our parents, friends, boss, or boyfriend/girlfriend. You make a mistake and society just hits you right in the stomach with it. But as the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When society punches you in the gut, you just have to punch back. Don't give into what everyone is saying.

In your journal write about a mistake that you've made that got some heat from your friends and family. What happened after you heard their criticism? Did you ignore it or take it to heart?

What would you grab if you could only grab 3 things?

I was rereading my About Me and I had put what I would grab if there was a fire. Looking at it, I was thinking what a great prompt it would make! I've always known I'd grab my stuffed clown, she's (even if she looks like a he) been there for me. I know it sounds ridiculous, me being 20 and all. But I won't ever give up my clown. It's the one possession that I will keep refixing over and over again. The reasons why I would grab her, I've had her since I was born, she would "protect" me from all the scary things and the thunder and lighting, I could talk to her when I was mad or angry. The other two things would be my iPod and cellphone. My iPod because I can't go anywhere without it. Music is one of the most important things in my life. So automatically my iPod is. Plus it's an iPod it ain't cheap! Then my cell phone because that's the only way people can reach me. We don't have a house phone anymore and it's just my cell phone. That's why I try and bring it everywhere with me because if there's an emergency or I need help, I have my phone right there. Plus I feel naked without it!

If your house caught on fire, what three things would you grab?

What would you want to do?

Hey everyone!
I recently came across this blog Alice's Bucket List which is this 15 year old girl who has cancer, it's her bucket list. I think it's a fantastic idea that she's trying to get all these things done before she passes away.
Everyone has things they want to accomplish before their time passes. I personally have a bucket list somewhere amongst my journals.
A bucket list is a list of things you want to accomplish before you pass away. There was a movie made about it, where Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman met in the hospital and ended up completing most of what was on their bucket lists. While watching this movie, I created my first bucket list. As far as I can remember for the first time, that's when I first created it.
If you were in Alice's or Jack Nicholson's and Morgan Freeman's characters what would you have on your bucket list? Take out your journal and open it to a fresh new page and come up with your bucket list.

Comment with some things from your bucket list.

XOXOXO

Welcome!

This is my new blog! I had a wordpress blog (for this exact things) and I got sick of it! Wordpress wasn't doing it for me. In this post, I'm just going to sum up my posts from the old blog:
  • Where I go to get inspired-google. I google Art Journals and get a ton of blogs up (which is how I find them all!) then I just look through and get inspired by all the wonderful things I see.
  • I recently (like a month ago) came home from school and I've had a lot of time on my hands, which is why I started this up again (I've had multiple blogs before but I just can't keep track of them! Which will change!). I'm going to try and post at least once a week. I'll be working two jobs this summer, so I won't have as much free time as I would like on here. But I will post at least once!
  • I found this on Daisy Yellow, it's an index-card-a-day. Pretty much each day you draw, paint, ink, write, doodle; onto an index card for June, July, and August. You're supposed to start before June 15. I plan on trying this out. I haven't started it yet. I've been pretty busy, but it's a great idea! I might even do it throughout the fall semester and spring semester! It seems like a good idea to document my experience at the new school. Here's the link to check it out Index-Card-A-Day. I think with all the cards I collect, I'm going to put them onto a a ring...like this. It'll be cool to have a box of these, after doing them every couple of months!
  • I recently added Sassafras to my lovely links. Looking upon her website, I noticed she had a 101 in 1001 days. It's a list of things that you want to accomplish in 1001 days. I think it's a fantastic idea and have written one myself. Check it out under the 101 in 1001 days!
  • There will be tutorials, prompts, images of my journals, etc on here. Once I get it all in tip top condition. It'll probably take me a couple days. I had today off, but I've been doing other things. Then I work tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. It'll all be up soon! I'm so excited! If there's anything you want to see, just let me know!
  • The Sketchbook Project-Pretty much you get a blank sketchbook, that is after you pay the $25, you have to sign up before October 31 of this year. So once you finish signing up, you'll get sent a blank sketchbook. You're able to do whatever you want with the sketchbook. It has to remain the same width I think. I'm not entirely sure what the rules are. If you go to the lovely links and look for the Sketchbook Project, it'll take you to the website for it. The cool thing is that once you send it back on January 31, 2012, it'll go on tour in April. There's a map of where it will go. I'm just excited that it gets to travel around the U.S. then it'll be a permanent exhibit in the Brooklyn Art Library! I think it's an awesome thing that I've wanted to be apart of. Soon I will!

That's all for now! I hope everyone has a fantastic couple of days!
    Until next time!
